Symphonic Orchestra
4th Period - Symphonic Orchestra is an advanced ensemble of 7th and 8th graders who have had 1 or more years of previous musical experience. In addition to playing Full Orchestra pieces for concerts, students will be using a special method book called Daily Warmups for Full Orchestra, by Michael Allen & Don Hanna (Hal Leonard Publishing).
Band
5th period - Band is an introductory band music class for 6th and 7th grade students. Band instruments typically consist of Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, and Percussion. Other instruments, such as Oboe or French Horn, can also be played depending on the previous experience of the student.
Strings
6th Period - Strings is an introductory orchestra music class for 6th and 7th grade students. Violin or cello is recommended for beginners, but more advanced students may want to play a "hero instrument" such as viola or bass. String orchestras usually include violin, viola, cello, bass, and percussion.
